MANGYSTAU HPP (GPP)
We were awarded the order as the key supplier for the GPP segment of hybrid power plant project by Rosetti Marino SpA. The Mangystau HPP is a groundbreaking hybrid project that will integrate the 120 MW gas-fired engine plant with a 77 MW wind farm and a 50 MW solar photovoltaic facility. Upon completion, the facility will supply stable and reliable electrical power to oil and gas exploration and production facilities in the Mangystau region, providing grid balancing capabilities to compensate for the inherent variability of renewable energy regeneration.
Aligning with a Problem-Solving Culture to Deliver Critical Power and Process Equipment
Rosetti Marino and KCOI are known for their proactive, solution-driven approach to complex energy projects. Supplying the Mangystau HPP (GPP segment) demanded the same mindset. Our scope included 2 auxiliary transformers, 5 pump skids, 1 shunt reactor, 4 water mist units, 35,000m of cables (MV, instrument, network/FO), and 350 BOP lighting units. The challenges were multifaceted: long lead times for high-voltage equipment, integration of Kazakh standards, site accessibility in the Mangystau region, and ensuring no single failure could delay the GPP segment's mechanical completion.
To match Rosetti Marino and KCOI's problem-solving standard, we adopted a pre-emptive risk management model. All major equipment — transformers, shunt reactor, and pump skids — underwent accelerated factory acceptance tests (FAT) with joint Rosetti Marino witness sessions, resolving interface issues before shipment. For the 35,000m of mixed cable tyoes, we created a colour-coded, drum-by-drum delivery matrix aligned to the GPP's zoning plan, eliminating on-site cable hunting. The water mist system was pre-piped and pressure-testing in modular skids, reducing field installation time by 40%. BOP lighting units were delivered with pre-terminated connectors for rapid deployment. As as result, we achieved 100% on time delivery, zero cable mismatches, and full system integration within the GPP's tight schedule — reinforcing the problem-solving culture that Rosetti Marino and KCOI bring to every Eni project.
