MANGYSTAU HPP (WPP)
We were awarded the order as the key supplier for the WPP segment of hybrid power plant project by KCOI. The Mangystau HPP is a groundbreaking hybrid project that will integrate the 120 MW gas-fired engine plant with a 77 MW wind farm and a 50 MW solar photovoltaic facility. Upon completion, the facility will supply stable and reliable electrical power to oil and gas exploration and production facilities in the Mangystau region, providing grid balancing capabilities to compensate for the inherent variability of renewable energy regeneration.
Building on a Proven Partnership to Deliver Critical Materials for the WPP Segment
Following the successful collaboration on the GPP segment of KCOI / Eni's Mangystau HPP, we were entrusted with supplying flange bolt gaskets, surge suppressors, duplex steel piping and fittings, and valves for the WPP segment, KCOI is recognised for its disciplined, solution-oriented approach to complex oil and gas projects, and this order deanded the same standard. The challenges were distinct: duplex stainless steel requires stringent heat treatment and welding controls to prevent sigma phase embrittlement; surge suppressors must meet precise electrical coordination with the WPP's protection scheme; and the sheet variety of flange bolt gaskets and valves across multiple pressure classes and material specifications crreated a high risk of mismatch during installation, Add to this the remote Mangystau location and the need to maintain schedule continuity from the GPP phase, and the supply demanded flawless execution.
Kazakhstan Caspian Offshore Industries (KCOI) is a leading EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) contractor operating in the oil, gas, renewable energy, and shipbuilding sectors in the Caspian Sea region.
